Bankmall announced that it will temporarily apply a 0.1% preferential interest rate to customers who apply for SC First Bank's jeonse loan through Bankmall starting from July 26. Unlike the previous mortgage loan interest rate preferential event, this event applies to applications submitted by August 31 rather than at the time of execution, thereby expanding the range of eligible applications. The available limit is up to 15 billion KRW and will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
Bankmall, a corporation in its 10th year since establishment, has been providing interest rate comparison services to ensure transparency in the loan market and started its platform business in January this year in line with the Financial Consumer Protection Act. According to the SC First Bank loan recruitment corporation disclosure announced this month, it executed the largest loan amount among all platforms in the first quarter for jeonse and mortgage loans.
Unlike other platforms, Bankmall is not only accessible via the app but also allows users to check all loan products on the web, offering convenience, stability, and accuracy in both mortgage and jeonse loans through its self-developed algorithm, demonstrating a consumer-friendly service. To date, the cumulative number of visitors has exceeded 1.16 million, and the cumulative loan application amount has surpassed 1.743 trillion KRW, achieving record figures within just two quarters.
As interest rate hikes continue recently, demand for obtaining jeonse loans at even slightly lower rates is increasing, and consumers using variable interest rates are preparing for rate hikes by switching to fixed-rate products. In this situation, SC First Bank's 0.1% preferential interest rate on jeonse loans can be seen as a timely event like rain in a drought.
A Bankmall representative stated, “The platform market size is gradually expanding compared to last year. As interest rates rise, the burden of interest also increases, so sensitivity to interest rates is gradually rising. This collaboration event between SC First Bank and Bankmall will be a good opportunity for consumers planning jeonse loans to reduce fixed expenses. We will continue to seek ways to provide preferential benefits to customers through cooperation with financial companies.”
