Yongin City Provides Up to 80 Million KRW for Installation of Livestock Odor Prevention Facilities

[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will support the costs of installing or improving odor prevention facilities.

On the 29th, Yongin City announced that it will provide installation costs support when farms and businesses newly install or repair facilities that can reduce odors, such as bio curtains, mist spraying facilities, screen doors (enclosure facilities), and washing towers.

The support targets are businesses with frequent odor complaints or livestock farms within the jurisdiction, or places where the efficiency of existing odor prevention facilities is low and replacement is necessary.

For businesses, only those classified as "small and medium enterprises" under the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises are eligible. However, those who have received support for installation or improvement costs of prevention facilities within the past three years are excluded.

The city will provide subsidies covering 50% of the installation cost, up to a maximum of 80 million KRW, to selected businesses or farms. The remaining 50% must be self-funded.

Businesses or farms wishing to apply can refer to the announcement for the "Odor Prevention Facility Installation and Improvement Project" on the city’s website, prepare the required documents such as the application form, and submit them by visiting the Climate Energy Division of City Hall or by mail. The application period is until the 19th of next month.

The city will select target businesses and farms through on-site inspections and technical evaluations in September.

A city official requested, "We ask odor-emitting businesses and livestock farms in the jurisdiction to take great interest in this project so that livestock and industrial odors can be reduced and a pleasant environment can be provided to citizens."
