[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dong-Eui Institute of Technology signed an industry-academic cooperation agreement with HDC Sports, which operates the Busan IPark football team, on the 26th at the university main building.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dong-Eui Institute of Technology President Kim Young-do, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation Lee Hwa-seok, Director of DIT Sports Rehabilitation Center Song Min-young, HDC CEO Kim Byung-seok, Team Leader Kim Kyung-jun, and other officials from both institutions.
The agreement was established to expand the base of professional football in the local community and to foster talent in the sports industry.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ development of the sports industry and contribution to the local community ▲ nurturing excellent talent in rehabilitation and training fields ▲ joint development and operation of major curricula ▲ mutual use of facilities and equipment.
Dong-Eui Institute of Technology plans to support comprehensive rehabilitation services, including injury prevention, to improve the performance of Busan IPark football players in connection with its school enterprise, DIT Sports Rehabilitation Center.
HDC Sports will provide various industry-academic cooperation opportunities such as field experience learning to current students of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology to foster talent in the sports industry.
President Kim Young-do said, “Since football is a sport with a high risk of injury, we will support players to receive professional and systematic rehabilitation services,” and added, “We will closely cooperate with HDC Sports in various fields, including fostering talent in the sports sector through industry-tailored education.”
The Rehabilitation Center is the only school enterprise specializing in sports rehabilitation nationwide. It currently implements sports injury prevention programs for amateur players such as elementary, middle, and high school teams, as well as adult teams, and musculoskeletal disease prevention programs for the health management of local residents.
