Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is operating a music therapy program called "Tell Me Your Story" to relieve suppressed emotions of children and adolescents.

This program was introduced to promote the mental health of children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties such as depression, attention deficit, and stress.

The program is conducted by mental health professionals including music therapists and mental health specialists for emotional counseling and therapy. Children participate in activities such as ▲singing ▲playing musical instruments ▲song rewriting and discussion ▲video production.

Through this process, children form rapport with each other and learn methods of self-expression. Moreover, group music therapy activities are expected to foster cooperation and positively influence peer relationships.

Earlier, since June, the district operated the music therapy program for elementary school students in the area, showing significant results in improving children's self-expression abilities and stress relief, leading to an expansion of the program from July.

Children with emotional and behavioral difficulties in elementary, middle, and high schools within Gangbuk-gu can apply for the program. The program is conducted at the Gangbuk-gu Mental Health Welfare Center or at locations agreed upon with the applying institutions.

For program applications and further details, please contact the Gangbuk-gu Mental Health Welfare Center.

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, "The music therapy program is greatly helping children's emotional and social development," and added, "We will continue to discover various programs to support youths' mental health and character formation."
