The general meeting started with a progress report on the village planning group by Moon Gang-hyun, the head of the village planning group, followed by sharing the proposed agendas by each subcommittee of the village planning group, and proceeded with a residents' vote to select the agenda.
Since recruiting the village planning group in March, the group has conducted resident needs surveys, workshops, and subcommittee meetings, carrying out activities aimed at residents taking ownership to identify problems and solutions for the village.
The results of the advance voting held from the 21st to 22nd and the on-site voting held on the day showed that agendas such as the creation of a family rest park (Welfare Subcommittee), the establishment of a barefoot red clay trail neighborhood park for health (Village Subcommittee), and the installation of CCTV and speed bump facilities in blind spots of Dotong-dong (Culture Subcommittee) received high votes.
These results will be reflected in future resident participatory budgets or implemented through resident public projects.
Jeong Nam-hoon, head of Dotong-dong, said, "The village planning group is a very meaningful activity because residents can directly participate and discuss village matters," and added, "I hope that the agendas selected through this general meeting will be practically implemented to realize true resident autonomy."
