[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] As the resurgence of COVID-19 has become full-scale, more than 80,000 new confirmed cases were reported by 9 PM on the 27th.


According to Seoul City and other local governments, the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases from midnight to 9 PM on the day was counted at 85,534. Compared to 97,617 cases during the same time frame the previous day, it decreased by 12,083.


Since there is still time until midnight when the tally closes, the number of new confirmed cases to be announced on the 28th is expected to increase and record around 90,000.


By region, the numbers are as follows: Gyeonggi 24,129, Seoul 18,170, Incheon 4,819, Gyeongnam 4,435, Gyeongbuk 4,290, Chungnam 3,852, Daegu 2,942, Chungbuk 2,903, Gangwon 2,854, Jeonbuk 2,800, Daejeon 2,573, Gwangju 2,460, Ulsan 2,378, Busan 2,229, Jeonnam 2,151, and Jeju 1,821.
