The governor of Ulleung County in South Korea is giving a security lecture to cadets at the Korea Military Academy.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kyungho Ahn] Nam Han-kwon, the former Army general and current governor of Ulleung County, took the stage.
On the 25th, at the Ulleung Hanmaeum Hall, he conducted a security education session for about 300 first-year cadets from the Korea Military Academy who visited for a national territory pilgrimage and a security field trip to Ulleungdo and Dokdo.
This field trip is held annually to promote security awareness and foster the will to protect the national territory. This year, Nam Han-kwon, the first general from Ulleungdo in the Republic of Korea Army, took the first turn in delivering the security lecture.
Nam Han-kwon, governor of Ulleung County, said, “I feel pride, responsibility, and a sense of mission in being entrusted with security education for prospective officers in my hometown Ulleung. A soldier’s duty is not only to maintain weapons but also to arm the mind with security awareness.”
