[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Woo-seok] Singer Lee Hyori and Lee Sang-soon, a married couple, have sold a building in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, which they owned jointly.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's real transaction price disclosure system on the 26th, the two purchased the Hannam-dong building for about 5.8 billion KRW in 2019 and sold it last month for 8.8 billion KRW. Simply comparing the purchase and sale prices, they made a capital gain of about 3 billion KRW.
The building, which has one basement floor and four above-ground floors (land area 187㎡, total floor area 470㎡), is located between Itaewon Station and Hangangjin Station. It was completed in 1998 and remodeled in 2016. The basement houses a wine bar, and the above-ground floors include a Japanese restaurant, a restaurant, and various offices.
The building is jointly owned by the two, with Lee Hyori holding a 69% stake and Lee Sang-soon holding 31%.
In 2020, Lee Hyori participated in a good landlord movement by lowering the building rent to help tenants struggling due to COVID-19.
Meanwhile, since 2017, Lee Hyori has secured a total of 7.3 billion KRW in assets by consecutively selling an apartment in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, a house in Nonhyeon-dong, and a residence in Jeju Island that appeared on JTBC's 'Hyori's Homestay.'
