Under 19 years old, Gwangyang Gift Certificate 550,000 KRW + Onnuri 150,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeong In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, Jeollanam-do, and Seo Young-bae, Chairman, issued a statement on the 26th announcing, "We will provide the 4th emergency disaster living expenses totaling 57.3 billion KRW, giving 300,000 KRW per person to all Gwangyang citizens, and an additional 400,000 KRW per person, totaling 700,000 KRW, to children and adolescents aged 19 or younger born after July 1, 2002."
The payment period will start from August 30, before the Chuseok holiday, and continue until the end of September. The recipients are Gwangyang citizens who have been registered residents in Gwangyang as of 0:00 on July 1, 2022, and continuously up to the application date, as well as foreigners registered with domestic residence and overseas Koreans registered with domestic addresses.
The payment method consists of 250,000 KRW in Gwangyang Love Gift Certificates plus 50,000 KRW in Onnuri Gift Certificates; for children and adolescents aged 19 or younger, 550,000 KRW in Gwangyang Gift Certificates and 150,000 KRW in Onnuri Gift Certificates. The necessary funds for support will be fully covered by city funds, utilizing internally available resources.
Chairman Seo Young-bae stated, "The council has listened to opinions from various households and has given much thought. We have strived to find various measures to minimize conflicts within the local community caused by the emergency disaster living expenses."
Mayor Jeong In-hwa said, "There was generous consideration from all council members, including Chairman Seo Young-bae, until a consensus was reached in the direction desired by more citizens. I hope that this 4th emergency disaster living expense will help overcome these difficult times."
