[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] On the 23rd, the Lifelong Education Center of Silla University held the graduation ceremony for the 4th class of the ‘50+ Life Redesign University’ at the Future Aviation Convergence Hall auditorium on campus.

The event was attended by Choi Kwang-jun, Director of the Lifelong Education Center at Silla University, faculty members, graduates, and senior alumni, totaling about 60 people.

The ceremony included speeches reflecting on the educational achievements and awards for outstanding graduates, such as the Busan Mayor’s Award and the Lifelong Education Center Director’s Award.

The 50+ Life Redesign University is an educational training project led by Busan City aimed at creating a healthy aging society, targeting individuals aged 50 to 64 who are preparing for their second chapter of life.

Over the past four months, the Lifelong Education Center at Silla University operated the ‘Urban Agriculture Practical Education Course,’ providing theoretical and practical training for urban agriculture feasible within the city, overcoming Busan’s geographical and environmental constraints.

Graduates were provided with dedicated garden plots and participated in hands-on education focused on cultivating and harvesting crops themselves.

By combining club and autonomous activities, participants shared know-how necessary for urban agriculture, resulting in all 50 trainees successfully completing the course.

Choi Kwang-jun, Director of the Lifelong Education Center, stated, “We are conducting comprehensive education for residents interested in agriculture, including the ‘Customized Education Course for Returning to Farming and Rural Areas’ hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Education and Culture Information Service. We will devote all efforts to operating educational projects that provide practical help to prospective farmers.”
