‘Pure White Birch Forest’ Glides with Eco-Friendly Cars... Yeongyang-gun Hosts Electric Vehicle Test Drive Event at National Forest

An electric vehicle test drive event is being held at the Yeongyang Birch Forest.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gui-yeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk held an electric vehicle test drive ceremony on the 25th at the "Pure White Birch Forest."

On this day, about 20 people including the Yeongyang County Governor, the Yeongdeok National Forest Management Office Chief, and village residents participated in the test drive at the Yeongyang Birch Forest in Jukpa-ri, Subi-myeon, designated as the People's Forest. Through the test drive event, they had time to discuss the safe operation and improvements of electric vehicles.

This electric vehicle pilot operation was prepared to expand the forest recreation and tourism infrastructure and provide convenience to tourists. Yeongyang-gun plans to pilot operate electric vehicles from August so that tourists nationwide can conveniently use the Yeongyang Birch Forest.

Oh Do-chang, Yeongyang County Governor, said, "With the operation of electric vehicles in the Yeongyang Birch Forest, we aim to revitalize tourism in Yeongyang and help the birch forest grow into the largest forest recreation tourism destination in the country."
