[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Gwangju Western Fire Station announced on the 25th that it conducted a joint fire drill with the hotel's self-fire brigade at the Ramada Hotel, a large accommodation facility in the area.
This fire drill was planned to ensure that citizens can have a safe and comfortable vacation as the number of hotel guests is expected to increase ahead of the peak summer season.
In particular, the drill involved 11 fire trucks including aerial ladder trucks, 40 firefighters, and about 70 hotel staff. The training focused on spreading fire situation alerts in case of a fire inside the building, guiding guests in rooms to evacuate quickly, initial fire suppression using the hotel's own fire facilities, and rescue training using aerial ladder vehicles.
Jo Ho-ik, head of the 119 Disaster Response Division, urged, "In the case of a hotel building fire, initial suppression and evacuation are the top priorities, so we ask related personnel to do their best to cultivate fire safety awareness and maintain fire facilities."
