Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Appointed as Chairman of the Talent Development Scholarship Foundation

Elected as Chairman at the 36th Extraordinary Board Meeting

Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Appointed as Chairman of the Talent Development Scholarship Foundation Mayor Park Dong-sik is conducting the 36th extraordinary board meeting.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Gyeongnam Sacheon City Talent Development Scholarship Foundation held the 36th extraordinary board meeting of the 2022 Sacheon City Talent Development Scholarship Foundation at the city hall on the 22nd and elected Park Dong-sik, Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, as chairman.


At the board meeting, 14 out of 17 directors and 2 auditors attended, unanimously agreeing to elect Mayor Park as the ex officio chairman.


The board meeting was held to elect a new chairman due to the expiration of the term of Hong Min-hee, Acting Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, resulting in a vacancy in the chairman position.


Chairman Park said, "The Sacheon City Talent Development Scholarship Foundation will boldly invest and spare no support to help Sacheon City students achieve their dreams and grow into global talents," adding, "I promise to play a key role in the development of education in Sacheon City."


Meanwhile, the Sacheon City Talent Development Scholarship Foundation has been awarding scholarships to about 200 students annually with a budget of 300 million won, and the cumulative amount of scholarships paid to date has reached about 5.3 billion won (paid to 5,662 students).


In addition, the foundation runs various programs such as a global talent English camp for elementary school students in grades 4 to 6, native speaker remote video English classes supporting students from grade 3 of elementary school to middle school, internet CSAT broadcasting supporting middle and high school students, and overseas cultural exploration projects for university students who graduated from local high schools.
