Filling the Street of Youth with Art... Dongseo University Hosts 'Seomyeon Art Festival with Musical' Graduates and current students of the Musical Department at Dongseo University are performing at the '2022 Seomyeon Arts Festival.'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Busanjin Cultural Foundation held the ‘2022 Seomyeon Arts Nanjang Festival’ on the 23rd and 24th.


The ‘2022 Seomyeon Arts Nanjang Festival’ is a street arts festival centered on the musical genre, with performances themed around musicals taking place throughout the youthful streets of Seomyeon.


The event consisted of ▲preview event ‘Musical Busking Performance’ ▲main event ‘Street Musical Performance (Street of Passion!)’ ▲side event ‘Seomyeon Music Salon’.


The preview event provided an opportunity to get a taste of the main event’s performances in advance.


The ‘Street Musical Performance’ reinterpreted famous musical numbers from Mamma Mia, The Greatest Showman, Grease, and others, allowing anyone on the street to enjoy musicals. The final performance featured a surprise original song themed on ‘Seomyeon’s passion, romance, and youth,’ capturing attention.


Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Busanjin Cultural Foundation signed a business agreement to revitalize local culture and arts.


In this event prepared through the agreement, Dongseo University musical department graduates and current students took the lead in participation, and famous musical actor Hong Ji-min, Dongseo University Professor Seong Gi-yoon, tenor Yang Seung-yeop, and soprano Wang Ki-heon made special appearances, illuminating the stage.


Professor Oh Se-jun of Dongseo University’s musical department, who served as the artistic director, said, “Local musical talents, famous stars, Busanjin Cultural Foundation, and the university joined forces to create a special local festival,” adding, “We will continue to develop it into a sustainable local festival.”


Hwang Gi-hyun, head of Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group, said, “Aiming to be a leading university in industry-academia-research cooperation for cultural content based on meta-technology, we will continuously plan programs that can collaborate with the local community by fostering specialized personnel in new technologies and content related to musical performances.”
