Increased Domestic Staycation Demand Due to Ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic
The prolonged impact of COVID-19 has brought significant changes to travel trends. As concerns about overseas travel persist, the number of domestic staycation users is increasing. Premium hotels and residential lodging facilities with well-equipped amenities such as spas and infinity pools, located near accommodations where guests can enjoy pristine nature, are gaining popularity.
Amid this trend, the residential lodging facility "Sokcho Xiella The Beach" is being established at the center of the Gangwon-do East Coast tourism belt. It is a premium residential lodging facility boasting high-end interiors and convenient amenities, scheduled to be launched in August.
With a total of 400 units, it is built under the well-known Xi brand, highlighting solid stability. It plans to enhance user convenience by offering luxurious interiors, differentiated internal designs, and facilities such as an infinity pool.
It especially features an excellent surrounding environment ideal for enjoying fresh nature. Guests can enjoy various natural views including the East Coast ocean view, Yeongnangho Lake, and Seoraksan Mountain. Right in front lies the shallow-water Deungdae Beach, allowing families with young children to safely enjoy swimming. Additionally, major East Coast tourist attractions such as Yeongnangho, Yeonggeumjeong, Cheongchoho, Abai Village, and Sokcho Beach are located nearby.
Various infrastructures covering shopping, culture, and administration are concentrated in the area, including Sokcho City Hall, Hanaro Mart, Sokcho Central Market, E-Mart, Megabox, and Rodeo Street. A transportation network enabling quick travel from Seoul to Sokcho via the Seoul~Yangyang Expressway is also in place. The opening of the KTX Sokcho Station (scheduled for 2027) is expected to attract even broader demand.
Meanwhile, residential lodging facilities have the advantage of low investment entry barriers, as anyone can purchase without a subscription savings account, mortgage loan regulations do not apply, and there are no resale restrictions.
"Sokcho Xiella The Beach" is scheduled for sale in August, with Xi S&D as the constructor and the professional management company Handys (Le Collective) in charge of operation and management.
