Volvo Group Korea "Let's Make Clean Guisan Beach"

Volvo Group Korea "Let's Make Clean Guisan Beach"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Volvo Group Korea, a specialist in excavators, announced on the 25th that it conducted an environmental cleanup activity called ‘Making Gwisang Beach Clean’ at Gwisang Beach in Changwon City, near the Volvo Construction Equipment Korea Changwon Plant, with about 150 employees, partner company staff, and their families.

Since being selected as a Green Company designated by the Ministry of Environment in 1996, Volvo Construction Equipment Korea has carried out various environmental protection activities for years, including the ‘One Company, One Mountain, One River Care’ campaign. Especially this year, to comply with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, the company resumed environmental cleanup activities that had been paused for a while, encouraging voluntary participation from employees and their families to practice Volvo Group’s core value of ‘environmental protection.’

The Gwisang Beach cleanup activity held on the 23rd was conducted in collaboration with Changwon City Hall in Gyeongnam Province. Employees and families of the group, who sympathized with the campaign’s purpose to join local community environmental protection and preserve the beautiful Masan Bay and Gwisang Beach, devoted themselves to volunteer work by collecting trash and waste.

Andrew Knight, CEO of Volvo Group Korea, said, “Volvo Construction Equipment Korea is making various efforts not only in environmental protection activities involving employee participation but also to achieve carbon neutrality in products and the production process.”
