Samsung Electronics Holds the 6th Samsung Security Technology Forum... Registration Now Open

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] Samsung Electronics will hold the "6th Samsung Security Technology Forum (SSTF)" on the 23rd of next month.

According to Samsung Electronics on the 25th, the "Samsung Security Technology Forum" is an event held annually since 2017 to expand the base of information security technology and nurture talent. It is a venue where world-renowned security experts, academia, and industry officials participate to share the latest achievements in the field of security technology.

This year's "Samsung Security Technology Forum," held online, will be conducted under the theme "Securing All Your Experiences." Since last year, it has been part of the integrated Samsung Research's global technology events, following the "Samsung 6G Forum" held in May, making this the second event of the year.

The event will begin with a welcoming address by Seung Hyun-jun, President of Samsung Research Institute, followed by a keynote speech by Hwang Yong-ho, Executive Director and Head of Samsung Research Security & Privacy Team. Subsequently, invited lectures will be given by Professor Daniel Jenkins from the Cybersecurity and Privacy Institute at Georgia Institute of Technology, Professor Muthu Venkitasubramaniam from the Department of Computer Science at Georgetown University, Manager Wei Dong Chui from Microsoft Research in the U.S., and Professor Kang Ji-hoon from the Department of Computer Science at KAIST.

Additionally, this year’s event will expand its technical sessions to include major research topics in Samsung Research’s security field, as well as introduce security activities from business divisions aimed at protecting devices and users in everyday life, offering a more diverse program.

The online hacking experience zone, which has received positive responses every year, will also be available this year. Various content such as basic hacking practice and penetration testing, accessible to beginners through advanced users, will be provided 24 hours a day.

Seung Hyun-jun, President of Samsung Research Institute, said, "This is an opportunity to hear the latest security research lectures from global experts alongside Samsung’s continuous efforts to prioritize customer security and privacy protection," adding, "I hope the 'Samsung Security Technology Forum' becomes a vibrant platform for active technology exchange and cooperation."

Detailed information about the "Samsung Security Technology Forum" can be found on the forum’s website, and online participation is available from today until August 23. Meanwhile, the "Samsung AI Forum" is scheduled to be held in early November following the security forum.
