[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Cheil Worldwide held the awards ceremony for the university student idea contest, the ‘Idea Festival,’ and announced this year’s winners on the 25th.

Now in its 43rd year, the Idea Festival accepted submissions in a single category of digital video content, reflecting the changes in the advertising marketing industry that is shifting towards digital-centered content production and encompassing various consumer touchpoints.

This year, over 3,500 students participated, submitting a total of 1,175 ideas, resulting in fierce competition. Among all submissions, only 23 entries were selected as finalists, and after the final judging panel’s review, a total of 10 winners were chosen: 1 Grand Prize, 1 Gold Prize, 2 Silver Prizes, 3 Bronze Prizes, and 3 Excellence Awards.

The Grand Prize was awarded to the Sogang University team for their entry titled ‘Keojyeora Bera’ (Grow, Bera). The idea involves combining individual Baskin-Robbins gifticons via digital billboards located in stores, which then randomly upgrade the gifticons to better ones.

The Gold Prize went to the team from Samyook University, Sejong University, Incheon National University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies for ‘Find My Car and Sell My Car with HeyDealer,’ which focuses on the fact that parking lots in places like department stores and marts are the most visited locations by car owners, enabling easy car price checks through parking fee payment machines.

Cheil Worldwide offers preferential benefits in job suitability assessments and aptitude tests during new employee recruitment and internship selection to the Grand Prize and Gold Prize winners. The winning entries can be viewed on the Idea Festival website.
