[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] On the 22nd, Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it secured a prize money of 70 million KRW after winning the Excellence Award in the Public Announcement category at the ‘2022 National Local Government Job Awards’ hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The National Local Government Job Awards is a system that evaluates the performance of 243 local governments nationwide in building job infrastructure projects and job creation fields.
The county has been honored with awards for three consecutive years in the job creation project evaluation.
In this evaluation, Jangseong-gun was highly praised for creating ‘Jangseong-type jobs that shine in crisis’ by implementing people-centered job policies through customized job support for different groups such as youth, women, vulnerable groups, and the elderly, responding to the COVID-19 crisis and population extinction.
The county promoted various projects such as customized education for nurturing talents needed in the region, attracting young population and establishing residential infrastructure, supporting employment for women with career interruptions, continuous income generation for vulnerable groups, attracting and settling returning farmers and migrants, and creating sustainable tourism-type jobs.
County Governor Kim Han-jong said, “The good evaluation is the result of our continuous efforts to implement job policies suitable for local conditions,” and added, “We will continue to discover various projects linked to job creation to contribute to stabilizing people’s livelihoods and regional development.”
