[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korean Air announced on the 22nd that, through a partnership with Naver Financial, it will provide the country's first service to convert and accumulate 'Naver Pay Points' into 'Skypass Mileage'.
Since the 20th, members who have completed identity verification on both Naver Pay and Skypass can convert 22 Naver Pay points earned through Naver Pay usage into 1 Skypass mile. Mileage can be accumulated once per day, starting from a minimum of 10 miles (220 points) up to a maximum of 5,000 miles (110,000 points) per month. However, Naver Pay points can only be converted into Skypass mileage.
Korean Air signed a business agreement with Naver in February 2021 to digitally innovate the aviation service sector. Additionally, since July of the same year, it has enhanced the convenience of using small amounts of mileage by allowing the use of 600 Skypass miles to access Naver Plus Membership for one month, which received positive customer feedback.
To increase Skypass member satisfaction, Korean Air continues to expand mileage accumulation partners. Since the 15th, any Korean Air Skypass member can earn 1 Skypass mile per 1 euro (or 1 pound) spent at shopping villages operated by The Bicester Collection in Europe. Members need to bring the same-day purchase receipt and visit the Tourist Information Center within the shopping village to present their Skypass membership number. This partnership applies to all nine shopping villages operated by The Bicester Collection in Europe, including Bicester Village in London, La Vall?e Village in Paris, and Fidenza Village in Milan.
Furthermore, since the 20th, Skypass members can earn 1 mile per 1 dollar spent on accommodations booked through Agoda, a global reservation platform with over 2 million registered lodging providers worldwide. This new partnership with Agoda, following Hotels.com, Booking.com, and Trip.com, offers Skypass members more options. Members can easily use this service by accessing Agoda through the Korean Air website and entering their Skypass membership number during the reservation and payment process.
In addition to Naver Plus Membership, Korean Air continues to introduce ways to use small amounts of mileage at nationwide E-Mart stores and KAL Store. Recently, it held a special event for the home caf? concept mileage mall 'Skypass Deal,' where members could purchase coffee machines, tableware, and more with mileage, selling out all products in a short period and ending early.
Meanwhile, Korean Air is running an event on its website offering a 5,000-mile round-trip discount for customers purchasing bonus tickets on routes to Honolulu, Las Vegas, Vienna, and Milan. It is also conducting a 20% mileage discount event for bonus ticket purchases on six domestic routes, continuously striving to enhance the convenience of mileage use and accumulation for Skypass members.
