Gangbuk-gu, Public Proposal for 'Gangbuk Empowering My Life' Projects in the 8th Elected Term

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (District Mayor Lee Soon-hee) is calling for proposals for district projects to realize the 8th term of the autonomous government’s goal of ‘Gangbuk that empowers my life.’

The district announced that this call for proposals is being promoted as part of the Gangbuk-gu communication project for the 8th term of the autonomous government. The aim is to collect a wide range of opinions and reflect the will of the residents in district administration.

Anyone who lives in Gangbuk-gu, including residents, workers, and school members within the area, can participate in the call for proposals.

The themes for proposals include ▲creative ideas to create ‘Gangbuk that empowers my life’ in the 8th term of the autonomous government ▲new proposals or improvement plans for existing projects that are hoped to be reflected in Gangbuk-gu’s projects next year.

Those who wish to participate can download the policy proposal form and personal information consent form from the Gangbuk-gu website, fill them out, and apply from July 25 to August 26 via one of the following methods: ▲Gangbuk-gu website (Citizen Participation - Citizen Proposals - Proposal Application) ▲email ▲mail or visit (Planning and Budget Division, 4th floor, Gangbuk-gu Office).

The district will announce the adoption status and evaluation grades of the submitted proposals in December after review by the judging committee.

The grades are divided into Excellence, Merit, Encouragement, and Effort, with prize money up to 1,000,000 KRW awarded differentially to winners.

Lee Soon-hee, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “We will strive to reflect the diverse opinions of residents in district administration,” adding, “We will do our best to make Gangbuk-gu a place that empowers the lives of its residents.”

Dongjak-gu (District Mayor Park Il-ha) will provide support for ‘pregnancy and childbirth-related expenses.’

This support project is one of the pledges announced by Mayor Park Il-ha at the vision declaration ceremony for the 8th term of the autonomous government on the 1st, aiming to reduce the economic burden on families with pregnancy and childbirth and to foster a childbirth-friendly atmosphere.

Starting from January next year, families who have given birth and have lived in Dongjak-gu for more than one year will receive full support for the out-of-pocket costs of maternal and newborn health care, excluding value-added tax.

Additionally, the fetal anomaly screening fee, which was previously supported only for high-risk groups, will be expanded to all pregnant women.

Regarding the ‘Dongjak Angel Congratulatory Money’ (childbirth support fund), guardians of newborns who have lived in Dongjak-gu for more than six months can apply, with payments planned as follows: 300,000 KRW for the first child, 500,000 KRW for the second, 1,000,000 KRW for the third, and 2,000,000 KRW for the fourth and subsequent children.

Furthermore, the district plans to newly establish and partially amend related ordinances to consider retroactive application from births in July this year.

Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “We will continue to work to make Dongjak-gu a happy place for both children and pregnant women.”
