Delivered Yeolmu Kimchi and Stir-fried Anchovies to 100 Underprivileged Households While Checking on Their Well-being
[Jindo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] The Jeonnam Jindo-gun Women's Association recently held a 'Sharing Love Side Dishes' event at the Women's Plaza to share love with neighbors in need.
Despite the intense summer heat, about 30 members carefully prepared seven types of side dishes, including young radish kimchi, stir-fried anchovies, and stir-fried pork, using fresh ingredients produced in the local community, and delivered them to 100 underprivileged households.
In particular, members of the women's association and town and township officials personally visited and delivered the dishes, providing greetings and companionship services, bringing vitality to the community exhausted by the heat and drought.
Chairwoman Byeon Ae-kyung said, "I hope the love side dishes will help to inspire a little hope and motivation in the lives of neighbors facing difficulties," adding, "This volunteer activity was also an opportunity for members to once again reflect on the meaning of love and service to neighbors."
Meanwhile, members of the Jindo-gun Women's Association actively carry out various volunteer activities every year, such as sharing kimchi with grandparent-headed families, bathing services for elderly with mobility difficulties, beauty and hair services, and water play events for children from low-income families in the area.
