[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University is accelerating talent development in connection with local schools.

On the 21st, according to Chosun University, the Department of Physics Education recently conducted a local-linked physics experiment class as part of the visiting Dreamtle Experiment Classroom program at Beolgyo High School in Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do.

Thirteen students with excellent physics grades from Beolgyo High School participated, gaining opportunities to experience the department introduction, advanced physics experiments, major experience in physics education, and career exploration.

In particular, Park Eunbin, a teacher who graduated from the Department of Physics Education in 2019 and is currently working at Beolgyo High School in Jeollanam-do, led the Beolgyo students, making it a meaningful time to visit her alma mater.

Also, six current students of the Department of Physics Education participated as pre-service teachers in experiment guidance activities under the supervision of Professor Jeong Kyungbok of the Department of Physics Education, enhancing teaching capabilities in the school field.

Professor Myung Nojun, head of the Department of Physics Education, said, “I feel great pride that my former student became a teacher and visited her alma mater with her own students,” adding, “Taking this opportunity, we hope that Chosun University’s College of Education will become a teacher training institution leading the establishment of community-linked educational governance by utilizing networks with field teachers who graduated from the department in the Honam region.”

Meanwhile, the College of Fine Arts and Physical Education at Chosun University signed a mutual cooperation agreement (MOU) with Yeongsan High School for career and academic advancement.

The agreement aims to maintain a cooperative relationship and promote exchanges for the development of both institutions by supporting education from Chosun University’s College of Fine Arts and Physical Education and fostering optimal human resources needed by Yeongsan High School.

The detailed contents of the agreement include ▲ friendly exchanges to promote mutual understanding and cooperation ▲ cooperation in student field training ▲ exchange of educational infrastructure such as information, facilities, and educational materials related to art and physical education ▲ joint development of programs, fostering and supporting excellent human resources.

Through this, both institutions plan to actively respond to changing times, seek directions for mutual development, and promote exchanges for the advancement of human resource development.

Seo Younghwan, dean of the College of Fine Arts and Physical Education, said, “We will work together to nurture excellent talent through educational support using Chosun University’s human resources.”
