[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] On the 20th, the Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force (Leader Kim Seon-yeol) in Toji-myeon, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, carried out an activity to attach nameplates for national merit recipients and their families, including independence patriots, national merit recipients, democratic merit recipients, and special mission merit recipients residing in Toji-myeon.
The Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force in Toji-myeon works to improve the living inconveniences of socially vulnerable groups, discover and support households in crisis, and resolve various daily life issues to enhance the sense of welfare.
The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs visits each household to attach nameplates for national merit recipients with the purpose of promoting social respect for national merit recipients and fostering a nationwide spirit of patriotism.
The nameplate design simply expresses the Taegeuk in navy blue color, embodying dynamic circulation, and adds the image of a torch to represent the dedication of national merit recipients.
Kim Seon-yeol, leader of the Welfare Task Force, said, “Due to the resurgence of COVID-19, it has become difficult to provide close-to-life welfare services as before, but nevertheless, we will continue activities for vulnerable groups in need of help.”
Ryu Hyosuk, head of Toji-myeon, said, “I appreciate the dedicated participation of the Our Neighborhood Welfare Task Force members for the elderly national merit recipients despite the hot weather,” and added, “We will do our best to realize a warm community without marginalized neighbors through various welfare policies in the future.”
