Yeongju Punggi Ginseng Expo, Recruiting 'Yeongju Restaurants' to Participate in Regional Tour Event.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo Organizing Committee is recruiting restaurants to participate in the ‘Local Tour Event’ held during the expo period.
This event is a stamp tour event where participants download the ‘Yeongju Travel’ app during the expo period from September 30 to October 23, visit the expo venue, use one tourist attraction and one restaurant in the Yeongju area, and complete participation by QR code verification to receive a small souvenir.
The organizing committee expects positive ripple effects such as promoting key tourist attractions like Seonbi World, Sosu Seowon, Buseoksa Temple, Museom Village, and Yeongju’s famous restaurants domestically and internationally, as well as revitalizing the local economy by encouraging linked visits between the ginseng expo, the region’s first international event aiming to attract one million tourists, and local tourist sites and restaurants.
Restaurants wishing to participate in this event can receive materials from the ‘Korea Foodservice Industry Association Yeongju Branch,’ a cooperative organization of the expo, or from the Eup, Myeon, Dong administrative welfare centers, and the Punggi Ginseng Expo Organizing Committee office.
An official from the organizing committee said, “For the 2022 Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo to create continuous local economic revitalization rather than being a one-time event, regional linkage programs targeting visitors are important,” adding, “We hope that this expo will help the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, to stretch and regain vitality.”
The 2022 Yeongju World Punggi Ginseng Expo, under the theme ‘Ginseng, Embracing the World and Opening the Future!,’ will be held for 24 days from September 30 to October 23 at the Punggi Ginseng Culture Popup Park area in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk. Tickets can be purchased through Yes24 Ticket, the expo website, and local agricultural and livestock cooperatives in Yeongju.
