Simultaneous Launch from Incheon and Busan! ... Air Busan Introduces New Incheon-Bangkok and Busan-Bangkok Routes Ahn Byung-seok, CEO of Air Busan (7th from the left), and officials from related organizations are taking a commemorative photo for the launch of the new Busan-Bangkok route.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan is expanding its routes by simultaneously launching new international flights from Incheon Airport and Gimhae Airport to Bangkok, Thailand.

On the 20th at 5 p.m., Air Busan held a launch ceremony for the Busan-Bangkok route at the international terminal of Gimhae International Airport.

The event was attended by CEO Ahn Byung-seok, Han Dong-min, Director of Busan Regional Aviation Administration, Park Jae-hee, Head of Korea Airports Corporation Busan Regional Headquarters, and Pantara Nikchart, Deputy Director of the Thailand Tourism Authority, among other guests.

By also launching the Bangkok route from Incheon International Airport, Air Busan has increased its number of international routes to a total of 18, with 11 from Gimhae Airport and 7 from Incheon Airport.

The Bangkok route is Air Busan’s first regular flight to Thailand. During the peak season until mid-August, both routes will operate one round trip daily, providing customers with a wide range of travel options.

The departure time for the Gimhae Airport flight is also earlier than other airlines at 6 p.m., allowing arrival in Bangkok at 9:40 p.m., which is not late at night.

With flights operating from both Incheon and Busan, passengers can also choose to depart from Incheon and arrive at Gimhae, enabling dual entry and exit options according to their schedules.

Air Busan decided on this new route launch after recognizing the sharp increase in demand for Bangkok, Thailand, as Southeast Asian overseas travel demand recovers.

According to aviation statistics from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the demand for travel between Korea and Bangkok exceeded 50,000 in May, but in June, it increased by 63% in just one month to 84,000.

The upward trend continues in July, with 78,000 passengers recorded as of the 19th, and it is expected to surpass 100,000.

An Air Busan official said, “We will actively discover and expand safe and popular overseas destinations to improve performance and increase corporate value.”

The Busan-Bangkok route departing from Busan leaves Gimhae International Airport at 6 p.m. and arrives at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 9:20 p.m.

The return flight departs from the local airport at 10:20 p.m. and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 6:20 a.m. the next day.

The flight from Incheon International Airport departs at 8:35 p.m. and arrives at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 12:55 a.m., while the return flight departs at 1:55 a.m. and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 9:45 a.m.
