Misikga 19th and 20th Branches Open on 21st at Jinjeop and 28th at Byeollae

"Doing Well" Emart's Renewed Food and Beverage Stores Increased by 50% Last Year Emart Jinjeop Branch 'Gourmet'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Emart is accelerating the renewal of its food and beverage (F&B) sections to strengthen its offline competitiveness. The plan is to increase customer inflow and extend customer dwell time by adding food service competitiveness to Emart’s strong grocery shopping function.

According to Emart on the 21st, Emart will renew and reopen the food and beverage sections at Jinjeop store on the 21st and Byeollae store on the 28th. Since 2020, Emart has been opening 'Misikga,' a food and beverage section within stores that gathers verified popular restaurants and applies stylish interior designs. Unlike in the past, these spaces are designed not just for quick meals after shopping but as places where customers can enjoy delicious food and relaxation.

Starting with four Emart stores in 2020, a total of 18 stores have completed food and beverage section renewals to date. With the addition of Jinjeop and Byeollae stores, Emart will operate a total of 20 'Misikga' locations nationwide. Emart plans to accelerate renewals in the remaining half of the year as well.

Emart attracts restaurants optimized for each region to 'Misikga' by analyzing the core customers and commercial districts of each store. Considering that the proportion of customers in their 40s with children is higher than the Emart average at the 'Jinjeop Misikga' opening on the 21st, value-for-money dining MDs such as 'SyongSyong Donkatsu' and 'Sam Ajeossi Pasta' have been introduced. The space planning is also differentiated according to the main customer base to enhance customer convenience. The 'Jukjeon Misikga,' opened in April, applied a terrace-style interior concept as a meeting place for customers in their 50s. The 'Jinjeop Misikga' was planned as a separate room type for families with children.

Emart explained, "'Long Bread,' a famous brunch cafe from Seorae Village located in 'Jukjeon Misikga,' and 'Sosoheon,' a brand of the Haeundae seaweed soup specialty restaurant Pungwonjang, took more than six months to persuade to join." Sales are also on the rise. The sales of food and beverage sections at nine Emart stores renewed last year increased by an average of 50% compared to the previous year.

Emart plans to continue strengthening offline competitiveness by renewing existing food and beverage sections into 'Misikga' and further enhancing Emart’s food service competitiveness.

To commemorate the opening of the 19th 'Misikga' at Jinjeop store on the 21st, Emart will offer a 2,000 KRW discount for purchases over 15,000 KRW made with event cards at 'Misikga' for two weeks until August 3rd. The same event will be held for two weeks after the opening of the Byeollae store 'Misikga' on the 28th.
