[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Kim Soo-young, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Council, urged that defect management for the newly constructed apartments at ‘Yeomju The Sharp Central Park’ must be thorough.
On the 20th, Councilor Kim made this statement during a 5-minute free speech at the 1st plenary session of the 305th extraordinary meeting.
‘Yeomju The Sharp Central Park’ is a large-scale new apartment complex redeveloped by POSCO Construction, replacing the former Yeomju Jugong Apartments located in Yeomju-dong. The move-in is scheduled for the 29th, and a pre-visit day event was held in June.
Councilor Kim said, “The pre-visit day, which should have been a celebration, turned into chaos,” adding, “It is known that the number of defect reports submitted by residents on that day reached approximately 55,000, and residents unanimously stated that the pre-inspection itself could not be conducted properly as the construction was not adequately completed.”
He further added, “Before the usage inspection of Yeomju The Sharp, I hope that it will be re-verified whether the residents’ defect requests were properly received and addressed, and that the usage inspection approval will be granted accordingly.”
