[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] The United Kingdom's Consumer Price Index (CPI) for June recorded 9.4%, marking the highest level in 40 years.
According to Bloomberg on the 20th (local time), the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS) announced that the June CPI rose at the fastest rate since February 1982.
This is a 0.3 percentage point increase from last month's 9.1%, marking the ninth consecutive month of growth.
The Bank of England (BOE) forecasted that inflation could exceed 11% in October due to rising energy prices.
