[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] A rafting competition for disabled people to experience endurance, designed to help develop their rehabilitation abilities and spirit of challenge, was held in Sancheong, Gyeongnam.

On the 20th, Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced that the 19th Disabled Endurance Experience Rafting Competition was held around the Gyeongho River and at the gymnasium.

About 700 people attended the event, including families of disabled persons from various cities and counties in the province, related organizations, volunteers, and safety personnel.

This competition was organized by the Sancheong Junior Chamber and the Gyeongnam Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities, with support from Gyeongnam Province and Sancheong-gun.

The Disabled Endurance Experience Rafting Competition was prepared to allow families of disabled persons to participate in leisure activities that are usually difficult for them to access, boosting their confidence while breaking down social prejudice and discrimination.

County Governor Lee Seung-hwa said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Gyeongnam Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities and the Sancheong Junior Chamber, who have successfully hosted this event for the 19th time, as well as to the volunteers.” He added, “I hope families of disabled persons enjoy rafting along with the beautiful scenery and create joyful and precious memories.”
