Purpose of Creating a Healthy Media Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 20th that from the 21st to September 30th, it will conduct a Clean Content Campaign together with the Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA) to create a healthy one-person media environment and spread a positive industrial culture.
The campaign will be conducted through a video contest where individual creators directly participate in producing and sharing clean content, and through activities by famous creator supporters to raise public interest in clean content.
The evaluation of content participating in the video contest will be based on the public interest and completeness of the videos, as well as campaign activity results such as the number of views, shares, and comments on the videos.
Among the outstanding participants, one grand prize team will receive the Minister of Science and ICT Award and a prize of 3 million won, and two teams will receive the RAPA President’s Award and a prize of 2 million won each. Thirty-seven excellent clean creators will receive video production equipment as prizes.
As clean content supporters, four famous creators including Engineering Student Byeon Seung-ju (Science & Experiment), Ggulggul Seon-a (ASMR), Ari Kitchen (Food & Cooking), and Allblanc TV (Home Training) will participate and continue activities to spread a healthy one-person media content consumption culture.
Last year’s campaign saw creators such as Hey Jini and Bob Gubnam participate as supporters, generating a total of 7.9 million views on campaign videos and 42,925 likes and comments.
Oh Yong-su, Director of Broadcasting Promotion Policy at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "For the growth of the domestic one-person media industry, the creation of a sustainable ecosystem must come first," and added, "We hope this campaign, conducted through the voluntary participation of creators and viewers, will be an opportunity to spread a culture of healthy content production and sharing."
