[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, is expanding the eligibility for the Hyo-do Usage Voucher, which supports bathing and beauty expenses for local seniors, to those aged 65 and older.
The Hyo-do Usage Voucher project, implemented since last year, was targeted at residents aged 70 and above to improve the quality of life of the residents and promote the health and welfare of the elderly.
According to the county, as of the end of June this year, about 17,500 residents have used the Hyo-do Usage Voucher, greatly contributing to the healthy living of seniors and the revitalization of the local economy.
Accordingly, Ulju-gun revised the ordinance in March to provide the Hyo-do Usage Voucher to more seniors, expanding the eligibility to those aged 65 and older starting this month.
The additional eligible recipients number about 13,500, bringing the total beneficiaries to approximately 31,000.
Applicants wishing to apply must visit the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center in person with their ID, or a proxy may apply by submitting the IDs of both the recipient and the proxy along with a family relationship certificate to verify the relationship.
The Hyo-do Usage Voucher is issued as a voucher card, with 15,000 KRW automatically loaded at the beginning of each quarter.
After using services at registered Hyo-do Usage Voucher affiliated stores such as bathhouses, barbershops, and beauty salons within the county, payment can be made with the loaded voucher card.
A county official stated, “We will actively promote this so that all seniors can receive the benefits without omission and do our best to make Ulju-gun a happy and livable place for residents.”
Ulju-gun is continuously recruiting affiliated stores for the Hyo-do Usage Voucher. Interested businesses can apply at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center with a business registration certificate and a copy of the representative’s bankbook.
