Yurajeo Connects Global Networking for Seoul Sales
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Investment Agency announced on the 18th that it will sign a business agreement with the Europe-based global investor 'EURAZEO'. EURAZEO is a global investment company managing 32 billion euros (approximately 42 trillion KRW), actively investing in innovative companies in the digital, healthcare, and smart city sectors.
According to Seoul City, the signing ceremony on the 19th will be attended by Gu Bon-hee, CEO of the Seoul Investment Agency, and Matthieu Baret, Managing Partner of EURAZEO Ventures. Julien Cats, Senior Counselor of the French Embassy, will also attend to support mutual entry and exchange expansion between Seoul and French companies. This agreement is part of the Seoul Investment Agency's efforts to build strategic partnerships with overseas investors.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲ reviewing investment possibilities in promising Seoul companies using the Seoul Investment Agency's database (DB) ▲ participation and collaboration in domestic and international investment attraction (IR) events hosted by Seoul City ▲ promotion of the Seoul Investment Agency to EURAZEO's global investment network ▲ expanding overseas investment in promising Seoul-based companies and supporting Korean companies wishing to enter France and Europe.
The Seoul Investment Agency was established to strengthen urban competitiveness as outlined in Mayor Oh's master plan 'Seoul Vision 2030'. It conducts comprehensive marketing activities to leap forward as a financial hub where global companies and talents thrive. The agency seeks collaboration by forming strategic partnerships with private experts and related organizations in various fields to expand foreign investment in promising Seoul companies and support their global market entry. In particular, it provides customized investment support tailored to client needs through cooperation with global fund managers, overseas venture capital (VC), corporate venture capital (CVC), and accelerators (AC).
EURAZEO is a global investment company that started in Paris, France, leading the global investment market with a focus on the European market, and accelerated its entry into the Asian market by establishing a Korean office in 2019. EURAZEO was the only European operator selected in the 2021 Korea Venture Investment's 2nd overseas venture capital (VC) global fund contribution project and plans to invest in promising Korean startups related to smart city technologies such as smart mobility, smart buildings, eco-friendly energy, and next-generation industrial technologies. It currently operates local offices in Paris, New York, London, Frankfurt, Berlin, Milan, Madrid, Luxembourg, Shanghai, Seoul, Singapore, and S?o Paulo.
