Introduction to the Latest Smart Laser Welding Technologies and Operational Cases
The Korean Welding and Joining Society, Yeongju City, and Gyeongbuk Technopark hosted the "High Energy Research Committee Research Presentation."
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gui-yeol] The High Energy Research Committee of the Korean Welding and Joining Society and Yeongju City held the "26th High Energy Research Committee Research Presentation of the Korean Welding and Joining Society" over two days from the 14th to the 15th at the Sobaeksan Punggi Oncheon Resort in Yeongju.
Hosted by the High Energy Research Committee of the Korean Welding and Joining Society and Gyeongbuk Technopark, this presentation was attended by over 60 experts in welding, joining, and high energy fields, and was conducted under the theme of "Smart Laser Welding and Monitoring."
On the first day of the presentation, research presentations were given on ▲ the development and future prospects of domestic large laser welding systems ▲ domestic and international application trends and latest technologies of laser surface treatment technology ▲ development and application cases of line lasers, along with an introduction to the Yeongju Advanced Bearing National Industrial Complex project.
Following this, attendees toured the Lightweight Materials Convergence Technology Center, equipped with the latest equipment in welding, joining, forming, and processing fields, which drew positive responses as it laid the foundation for corporate support.
On the second day of the presentation, the 15th, a cooperation committee and technology exchange meeting were held, followed by a program operation committee meeting on measures to revitalize the high energy field.
Chairman Choi Hae-woon said, "It is deeply moving to hold the High Energy Research Committee research presentation, postponed due to COVID-19, in Yeongju, the hometown of seonbi, after three years," adding, "I hope exchanges with Yeongju City will expand beyond just the high energy research presentations to various fields in the future."
Park Jeong-rak, head of the Advanced Bearing Industry Support Group, said, "It was a valuable opportunity to hear diverse voices from representatives of the welding, joining, and high energy fields," and added, "We will do our best to leap forward as a hub city for the bearing and lightweight materials industries through the establishment of the Yeongju Advanced Bearing National Industrial Complex."
The High Energy Research Committee is a specialized research committee under the Korean Welding and Joining Society focused on high-density energy (laser and electron beam) and is composed of the top experts in related fields in Korea. Every July, experts from academia, research institutes, and industry gather to present research on domestic and international trends in laser and electron beam fields, playing a leading role in advancing Korea's welding technology.
