[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) will operate a ‘1:1 Intensive Counseling for College Admission Early Decision Preparation’ on August 8 and 9 at Haenuri Town Art Hall for examinees and parents preparing for the 2023 academic year early college admission process.
This face-to-face counseling involves 10 current and former high school guidance counselors. Through 1:1 intensive counseling sessions (40 minutes per person) at individual booths, they will share information on each university’s admission process, last year’s admission results, and support the establishment of customized strategies for each student.
In particular, since the counseling coaches are actively serving as admission advisory committee members for many universities, parents and examinees can receive comprehensive counseling without having to visit their desired universities in person.
The recruitment target is residents of Yangcheon-gu, and those wishing to apply can register online through the integrated reservation portal on the district office website starting at 10 a.m. on the 18th. After receiving a confirmation message and counseling session assignment, applicants must submit the counseling application form via email to the person in charge. A total of 120 people, including 20 from vulnerable groups, will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, and the counseling fee is completely free.
For detailed information on counseling operation and application methods, please refer to the announcements on the Yangcheon-gu Office website or contact the Education Support Division.
Lee Gi-jae, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, said, “This intensive counseling will be a great opportunity to provide examinees and parents with fast and accurate admission information to prepare for the various early college admission processes that change frequently,” adding, “We will continue to spare no effort to support the establishment and promotion of substantial education policies to eliminate educational disparities and help Yangcheon-gu become a happy education city.”
Jongno-gu (Mayor Jeong Mun-heon) has prepared an ‘Admission Information Session’ and ‘1:1 College Counseling’ to ease the admission-related concerns of examinees and parents in preparation for the 2023 academic year early college admission process.
The admission information session will be held on the 23rd of this month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Jongno-gu Lifelong Learning Center (81 Ihwajang-gil, 3rd floor of the Open Hall at Korea National Open University).
Park Moon-su, a teacher at Cheongwon Girls’ High School and a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s College Admission Guidance Support Team, will explain essential points about the basics of college admission processes, including subject-based, comprehensive, and essay admissions.
Examinees, parents, and interested residents of Jongno-gu can participate by pre-registering on the Jongno Education Portal or by visiting on the day of the event. Pre-registrants will receive a booklet on early admission processes published by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s Educational Research Information Institute.
The 1:1 college counseling will be held on the 28th from 10 a.m. in the education hall on the 12th floor of the district office building. Five active teachers from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education’s College Admission Guidance Support Team will provide customized counseling to a total of 35 teams.
The purpose is to help select universities and admission processes considering individual aptitudes and capabilities and to assist in effectively establishing college admission strategies. Each session lasts about 40 minutes, and pre-registration is mandatory.
Applicants can select their preferred time slot on the Jongno Education Portal.
Mayor Jeong Mun-heon said, “We planned the admission information session and college counseling to ease the worries of examinees and parents ahead of college admission,” adding, “The local community will strongly support so that long efforts can bear fruit.”

At Macheon Youth Center (319 Seongnaecheon-ro), essential basic math lectures for middle school students are conducted; at Songpa Social Economy Support Center (246 Munjeong-ro), two programs are offered: environmental awareness improvement and practical application lectures for elementary students, and career guidance education through arts for elementary, middle, and high school students.
At Deomiso Small Library (17 Ogeum-ro 35-gil), future planning education through self-development is provided for elementary, middle, and high school students; and at Aju Middle School (69 Olympic-ro 4-gil), content production courses such as video shooting and editing are held for enrolled students.
Youth wishing to participate can inquire with the Songpa-gu Education Cooperation Division or the respective learning centers for detailed information.
