Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) was selected as an excellent institution in the ‘Small Amount Financial Support for Low Credit Small Business Owners and Self-Employed’ contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing 90 million KRW in national funds.

The district was highly evaluated for establishing a cooperative model with Saemaeul Geumgo and the Credit Guarantee Foundation. With this selection, Dongjak-gu will contribute a total of 200 million KRW from district and national funds to create a loan fund of 2 billion KRW.

The Dongjak-gu type low-credit small business financial support project was prepared to help low-credit small business owners, who are in the blind spot of financial benefits among those affected by COVID-19, to recover.

In particular, this project is one of the ‘100-day Action Plans’ of the 8th civilian term announced by Mayor Park Il-ha at the vision declaration ceremony on the 1st, and is a special guarantee support measure for small business owners to be implemented in September.

The loan limit is up to 20 million KRW per business for working capital purposes, and the district will bear more than half of the interest rate (4%, variable) for the first two years.

Eligible applicants must have a business location in the district and have been operating for more than six months, with a credit rating between 6 and 9.

Applications will start in mid-September and continue until funds are exhausted.

Additionally, the district plans to promote a special guarantee support of 12 billion KRW for small business owners with credit ratings between 1 and 5 in the district in September. The loan limit is up to 20 million KRW per business for working capital purposes, and the district will bear about half of the interest rate (3%, variable) for the first two years.

For other matters related to small business loan support, please contact the Economic Promotion Division.

Mayor Park Il-ha said, “Small business owners are the core of the neighborhood economy, so their economic stability is of utmost importance. We will strengthen financial support so that small business owners facing difficulties can recover.”

Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Kang-soo) announced on the 15th that it will extend the application deadline for the ‘Unpaid Leave Worker Support Fund’ to the 31st.

The original deadline was June 30, which has now been extended by one month.

Along with this extension, the criteria for excluding industries from support have been relaxed, allowing workers from companies previously excluded to reapply.

Previously, if even one excluded industry for small business policy fund loans was listed on the business registration certificate, the applicant was excluded from support. Now, support is possible if the excluded industry listed is not the main industry.

Eligible applicants are workers who have been employed at companies with fewer than 50 employees located in Mapo-gu from April last year to June this year, who have taken unpaid leave for seven or more days per month and have maintained employment insurance. Those who applied before June 30 must maintain employment insurance until July 31, and those who apply in July must maintain it until August 31. However, self-isolation due to COVID-19 infection does not count as unpaid leave.

If selected, applicants can receive 500,000 KRW per month, up to 1.5 million KRW for a maximum of three months.

Applications can be made by downloading the application form and necessary documents from the Mapo-gu Office website, filling them out, and submitting them in person at the 6th floor Unpaid Leave Worker Support Fund reception desk, by email, by mail to the Mapo-gu Office Job Support Division, or by fax.

For more details, check the ‘Notices’ section on the Mapo-gu Office website or contact the Job Support Division.

Mayor Park Kang-soo said, “I hope this support fund will be of some help to workers struggling due to COVID-19. We will continue to make every effort to reduce the economic burden on residents and help them recover their daily lives without difficulties.”
