On the 14th, 3 Provincial Assembly Members including Park Chunduk Deliver 5-Minute Free Speeches
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] The Gyeongnam Provincial Council opened the 1st plenary session of the 397th extraordinary session on the 14th and began a 13-day extraordinary session schedule until the 26th.
At the plenary session, following the 5-minute free speeches by three council members including Park Chun-duk, the council handled eight agenda items including ▲Improvement of the Standing Committee members of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council ▲Appointment of members to the Budget and Accounts Special Committee under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Office ▲Appointment of members to the Ethics Special Committee of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council ▲Resolution on the formation of the Special Committee on Job Measures of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council ▲Supplementary budget for 2022 for Gyeongsangnam-do and the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education Special Account.
The three council members who gave 5-minute free speeches pointed out issues regarding local matters and proposed alternatives, urging the executive branch to pay special attention.
Chairman Kim Jin-bu said in his opening remarks, “The 12th Provincial Council will devote all its efforts to realizing a ‘council truly for the residents only’ and a ‘resident-centered working council.’ Above all, we will do our best to ensure that all policies are established and implemented from the residents’ perspective with a sense of responsibility for the entire provincial administration and education administration, as well as checks and oversight of the executive branch.”
Meanwhile, the 2nd plenary session is scheduled to open on the 15th to handle general agenda items such as ordinances.
