- Seoul~Yangyang Expressway, High Demand for Tourism in Yangyang, Gangwon-do via Yangyang International Airport
- Rising as a Mecca for Surfing and Yacht Marine Sports... ‘Inscape Yangyang by Parnas’ Attracts Attention
Yangyang, Gangwon-do is emerging as the mecca of domestic marine sports based on transportation infrastructure such as highways and airports. It is gaining attention as a holy place for marine sports representing the East Coast, equipped with a road network that allows quick access from Seoul and the metropolitan area, as well as an air network that can attract tourists nationwide.
Using the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, which opened in 2017, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do can be reached from Seoul and the metropolitan area in about 90 minutes. Although the distance is somewhat farther compared to major tourist destinations on the west coast from Seoul, the travel time is similar or even shorter.
In particular, Yangyang, the terminus of the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway, serves as a transportation hub for East Coast tourism by providing easy access northward to Sokcho and Goseong, and southward to Gangneung, Donghae, and Samcheok via the Donghae Expressway.
Along with this, it is conveniently accessible from major domestic airports such as Gimpo Airport, Jeju Airport, and Yeosu Airport. Additionally, with the reopening of air routes that were closed due to COVID-19, flight routes to major cities in the Philippines, Taiwan, and Vietnam are planned to open one after another, highlighting Yangyang as a center of 'K-tourism.'
As Yangyang-gun in Gangwon-do is reborn as a representative marine sports tourist destination on the East Coast, tourists continue to flock to the area.
In fact, as of 2020, about 500,000 surfing tourists visited Yangyang, nearly 20 times the population of Yangyang-gun (about 27,700 people). The number of surfing shops also approached 90 in 2020, marking it as a mecca. Accordingly, Yangyang-gun is actively promoting the influx of tourists by revitalizing Surf Beach.
Along with this, interest in Yangyang is growing as it is reborn as a spot where various marine sports such as yachting at Susan Port Yacht Marina, paddleboarding, and canoeing can be enjoyed.
Meanwhile, Fides Development plans to supply a top-class accommodation facility with about 393 units right in front of Naksan Beach, the best location in Yangyang, in July.
Fides Development is set to officially launch the sale of the residential accommodation facility ‘Inscape Yangyang by Parnas’ right in front of Naksan Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon-do. Inscape Yangyang by Parnas, located in the Yangyang-gun area of Gangwon-do, consists of one building with 393 residential accommodation units, ranging from 7 basement floors to 39 above-ground floors.
