Daesung Energy and the Daegu branch of the Korean Red Cross prepared "Hearty Samgyetang," a nourishing summer dish, on the 13th and delivered it to 200 low-income elderly and vulnerable households in the area.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Daesung Energy and the Daegu branch of the Korean Red Cross prepared Samgyetang, a summer health food, on the 13th ahead of Chobok, and gifted it to 200 low-income elderly and vulnerable households. The healthy meal provided that day was ‘Dundeun Samgyetang’.
Dundeun Samgyetang is part of a program that supports healthy nourishing food to comfort low-income elderly and vulnerable groups exhausted by COVID-19 and the heatwave, helping them to spend the summer healthily.
About 20 employees of Daesung Energy and volunteers from the Red Cross Daegu branch’s Dong-gu District Council participated in this sharing event.
From early morning, they carefully prepared Samgyetang, packaged it together with Sikhye, and personally visited low-income elderly and vulnerable households in Dong-gu to deliver the meals and check on their well-being.
Park Jong-ryul, Head of Management Support Division at Daesung Energy, said, “I hope all the elderly exhausted by the early onset of the hottest days of summer compared to previous years can replenish their energy with nourishing food and overcome the hot summer well. We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities to further spread the culture of sharing for marginalized neighbors.”
Daesung Energy, together with the Korean Red Cross Daegu branch, is engaged in various social contribution activities such as support projects for grandparent-grandchild families, sharing Matnam lunchboxes, and sharing bread and noodles of love.
