Education Welfare Policy for Integrated Student Growth Support... National Assembly Forum Held


[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] On the 13th, the Ministry of Education will hold the 'Public Forum on Integrated Support for Student Growth' at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, together with Assemblyman Jo Hae-jin (People Power Party) and the Central Education Welfare Research Support Center of the Korea Educational Development Institute.


'Integrated support for student growth' refers to a customized support system that helps students grow by eliminating problems that hinder students' participation in learning, such as economic difficulties, child abuse, school violence, psychological and emotional issues, and basic academic skills problems.


At this forum, under the theme of 'Development Plans for Education Welfare Centered on Student Growth,' discussions will be held on the role of students' lives and education to ensure that children are not marginalized or left behind in the post-COVID era.


Ryu Bang-ran, President of the Korea Educational Development Institute, who will deliver the keynote speech, will introduce the social background of education welfare policies and government education welfare policies, and propose directions for education welfare policies through overseas cases under the theme of 'Development Directions of Education Welfare Policies.'


Shin Hee-kyung, Director of Youth Forest, will analyze the difficulties faced by vulnerable youth under the theme of 'Youth Life and Development,' and Lee Don-jip, Head of Career Counseling at Samjeong Middle School, plans to emphasize the necessity of establishing an in-school support system for student-centered integrated support.


During the comprehensive discussion session, No Seong-deok, Director of the Korea Youth Counseling and Welfare Institute, Choi Jeong-yoon, Vice Principal of Nangok Middle School, Park Kyung-hyun, Director of Saem Education Welfare Research Institute, and Jang Deok-ho, Professor at Sangmyung University, will share their opinions on specific directions for education welfare policies.
