[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is conducting a pilot operation of the ‘Seocho Youth SNS Supporters’ until the end of the year to provide small business owners with an environment suitable for the digital age and to revitalize the local economy.

The ‘Seocho Youth SNS Supporters’ (photo) is a project where young people familiar with digital devices help small business owners in the area strengthen their digital skills, and it is also part of the Seocho-type Safe Job project.

The district selected five young people with talents in online marketing last month. The selected youths have been active since the 1st, targeting 60 small business stores selected for the Seoripul Artterior project, which improves store interiors, product, and branding design by utilizing the creative talents of local artists.

They mainly provide customized support through ▲‘Online Market Development’ supporting entry into delivery apps and online stores ▲‘SNS Marketing Support’ helping promotion on Instagram, Naver Blog, etc. ▲‘Digital Literacy Education’ teaching smartphones, PCs, and more.

One youth participating in the Youth SNS Supporters said, “As a native born and raised in Seocho, I feel rewarded to be able to help neighbors and the local community,” and “I want to grow into multimedia professionals who can utilize various platforms by creating an inclusive digital environment.”

The district expects the ‘Youth SNS Supporters’ to have a twofold effect: providing jobs for young people and boosting sales for small business owners, thereby revitalizing the local economy.

Going forward, the district plans to monitor and analyze the results of this project and expand the Youth SNS Supporters program next year.

Seocho-gu Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “We will continue to discover various projects that provide stepping stones for young people to enter society and offer economic support to small business owners, such as the ‘Youth SNS Supporters’ project.”
