[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The Korea Securities Depository announced on the 12th that the amount of paid-in capital increases issued by listed companies in the first half of this year reached 21.1393 trillion KRW (219 companies), marking a 21.5% increase compared to the same period last year (231 companies, 17.3953 trillion KRW).
By market, in the KOSPI market, 39 companies raised paid-in capital amounting to 17.0578 trillion KRW, which is a 7.1% decrease in the number of companies but a 23.6% increase in amount compared to the same period last year (42 companies, 13.8047 trillion KRW). In the KOSDAQ market, 156 companies raised 3.9945 trillion KRW, showing a 6% decrease in the number of companies but a 15.5% increase in amount compared to the same period last year (166 companies, 459 billion KRW). In the KONEX market, 24 companies raised 87 billion KRW, with a 4.3% increase in the number of companies but a 33.9% decrease in amount compared to last year.
By allocation method, the amount scale was in the order of public offering method (51 companies, 11.425 trillion KRW), rights offering method (28 companies, 7.0765 trillion KRW), and third-party allotment method (145 companies, 2.6378 trillion KRW).
The company with the largest amount of paid-in capital increase was LG Energy Solution, which raised 10.2 trillion KRW. Samsung Biologics followed with 3.2007 trillion KRW, and Doosan Enerbility with 1.1477 trillion KRW. The companies with the largest number of paid-in capital increase shares were Daehan Electric Wire & Cable (388 million shares), Doosan Enerbility (82.87 million shares), and VIVOZON Health Care (64.13 million shares), respectively.
The amount of bonus shares issued by listed companies in the first half of the year was 502.71 million shares (52 companies), which decreased by 37.3% and 45.8%, respectively, compared to the same period last year (83 companies, 928 million shares).
By market, in the KOSPI market, 12 companies issued 56.97 million shares, down 40% and 52.5%, respectively, compared to the same period last year (20 companies, 120 million shares). In the KOSDAQ market, 40 companies issued 445.74 million shares, showing decreases of 33.3% and 43.9%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
The company that issued the largest number of bonus shares was Notus, with 62.44 million shares. It was followed by Joycity (22.77 million shares) and Deoksan HiMetal (22.71 million shares).
