[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Hollywood star Cameron Diaz (50) revealed that she might have unknowingly transported drugs during her days as an unknown model.
On the 10th (local time), the British daily The Guardian reported, "Cameron Diaz stated in an interview on the podcast 'Second Life' that she might have unknowingly transported drugs."
According to the report, in the early 1990s, Cameron Diaz, then an unknown model, went to Paris, France to make a name for herself but was unable to find suitable work for an entire year. Cameron Diaz said, "At that time, I ended up doing some kind of job. Looking back now, that job seemed like transporting drugs to Morocco."
She continued, "I received a locked bag containing clothes, and only when I arrived at the Moroccan airport and the customs officer asked me to open the bag did I start wondering, 'What is inside this bag?'" She added, "Back then, I was in a reckless phase, wearing ripped jeans and platform boots. I said, 'This is not my bag. I don't even know whose it is,' and left the airport," recalling, "That was the only job I got in Paris."
The Guardian added, "Fortunately for Diaz, airport security at the time was not as strict as it is now."
Cameron Diaz later became a global star by appearing in films such as The Mask, Being John Malkovich, and Shrek. After pausing her acting career following the 2014 film Annie, Cameron Diaz is making a comeback with the Netflix movie Back In Action.
