Gwangju Nam-gu, Searching for Public Data Desired by Residents

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is conducting a public data demand survey to discover information that residents want to know.

According to Nam-gu on the 11th, the 2022 public data private sector utilization activation demand survey will be conducted over three weeks until the 29th.

This aims to promote changes in residents' awareness of public data, strengthen accessibility, and provide demand-centered customized administrative services to activate the use of public data in the private sector.

The survey will be conducted online through banners on the Nam-gu Office website and the Participation World section.

Anyone interested in using public data can participate.

The survey questions consist of 16 items in 8 categories, including basic questions such as respondents' gender, age, and occupation, the purpose of using public data, the status of public data fields used so far, satisfaction with public data quality, and areas for expanding public data openness.

Nam-gu plans to conduct the survey until the 29th, analyze the collected information over two weeks, and reflect it in the 2023 public data openness policy establishment plan.

In addition, to enable users to use public data in the fields they requested to be opened, Nam-gu will consult with the relevant departments within the district office to additionally open public data.

In fact, last year Nam-gu conducted a survey targeting residents and opened various public data in fields newly requested by users, including the status of drainage pumping stations in Nam-gu, Gwangju, streetlight location information, single household population status, social enterprise product information, and pharmaceutical wholesale business locations.

Currently, 58 public data items are provided through the Nam-gu Office website, offering public data in various fields such as public administration and science and technology, education, transportation and logistics, land management, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, culture and tourism, law, health care, social welfare, and industrial employment.

A Nam-gu official stated, “We will discover and open public data that residents want, upgrade the latest data as well, and provide convenience in residents' daily lives.”
