[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Independent research firm Valuefinder (CEO Lee Choongheon) announced on the 8th the official launch of the ‘Value Members’ subscription service for individual investors. Valuefinder provides corporate analysis reports by directly visiting small-cap companies with a market capitalization of less than 500 billion KRW.
The newly introduced Value Members subscription service by Valuefinder offers ▲ Quick visit notes the day after visiting 8 to 10 small-cap companies each month ▲ issue comments on covered stocks, as well as domestic and international market conditions and stock data.
Over the past year, Valuefinder has visited over 120 companies and published numerous stock reports not issued by securities firms. Despite the ongoing market downturn this year, it has gained recognition by discovering stocks that outperform the market, such as Gonggu Woman, Vesel, Motrex, and IrenTech.
Additionally, its research capabilities have been acknowledged, with reports currently posted on FN Guide and Wise Report. By supplying content to Korea’s top financial information service portals, it has secured credibility.
Lee Choongheon, CEO of Valuefinder, stated, “Most domestic securities research centers primarily serve major institutional investors, so corporate information on small and mid-sized small-cap companies is severely lacking. The role of independent research firms in Korea is becoming increasingly necessary.”
Meanwhile, according to the Korea Exchange, the total number of reports published by domestic securities firms in 2020 was 27,682. Among them, reports on companies with a market capitalization between 100 billion and 500 billion KRW numbered 4,094 (14.8%), and reports on companies with a market capitalization below 100 billion KRW were only 334 (1.1%).
