[Featured Stock] Bioneer Soars on Top Safety Rating for Hair Loss Cosmetics

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] Bioneer’s stock price is soaring following the news that 'Cosmerna' received the highest rating, 'Excellent 5-STAR,' in the safety evaluation by Germany’s Dermatest. As of 1:57 PM today, Bioneer’s stock price is recorded at 34,150 KRW, up 29.85% from the previous day.

Cosmerna earned the 'Excellent' rating in the patch test conducted by Germany’s Dermatest in March this year. It also received the highest rating in the recent application test. The application test is conducted by dermatologists who apply the product to actual usage areas of clinical trial participants for at least four weeks to evaluate safety.

Cosmerna is a functional cosmetic product for alleviating hair loss symptoms. It was developed based on short interfering ribonucleic acid (siRNA) gene technology. However, Cosmerna’s approval was rejected by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in December last year due to insufficient evidence proving the safety of its main ingredient, siRNA.

The company stated, "By obtaining the highest rating from Germany’s Dermatest this time, we have proven the product’s safety," and added, "We will also register the product with the European Cosmetics Notification Portal (CPNP) to launch it in Europe."
