Geumcheon-gu Launches Integrated Care Platform 'Onjongil Care Portal' Operation

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) has established an integrated care platform called ‘Onjolil Care Portal’ that allows residents to view information about local care facilities and care services at a glance, aimed at children, adolescents, and parents in need of care.

Residents can access the Onjolil Care Portal to find information on various care facilities in Geumcheon-gu (Community Child Centers, Our Neighborhood Care Centers, Pogun Centers), including their status and locations. The portal also offers a function to find customized care centers near one’s neighborhood, enabling users to discover what facilities are available nearby.

Additionally, users can check programs conducted at each facility and interior photos, making it convenient to determine which facility is suitable for their child without having to visit in person.

The Onjolil Care Portal can be accessed through the ‘Onjolil Care Portal’ menu at the top of the Geumcheon-gu Office website.

Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We hope this helps residents easily and conveniently obtain care service information,” and added, “We will build a seamless Geumcheon-type elementary care system to minimize care gaps.”

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Tae-woo) has taken meticulous measures for public facility users.

The district announced that it will adjust the announcement times for facility operation closure to ensure residents do not experience inconvenience when using public facilities.

The purpose is to help residents use public facilities freely without discomfort until the closing time.

There are a total of 47 public facilities in Gangseo-gu, including libraries, sports facilities, and welfare centers. Some of these facilities currently broadcast closure announcements 10 to 15 minutes before the closing time.

These closure announcements are intended to help users prepare to leave with enough time, but for some users, they may sound like unpleasant rush orders to leave quickly as time is running out. They can also disrupt concentration on ongoing activities and cause discomfort.

Therefore, the district plans to change the announcement system so that closure announcements are made at the actual closing time rather than in advance, to ensure residents can use the facilities without inconvenience.

The district will review the current operation of closure announcements at each facility and listen to user complaints, aiming to unify the announcement times to the facility closing time across all public facilities in the area.

In particular, the district will ensure thorough management so that users who did not prepare to leave in advance are not hurriedly forced to exit immediately after the closing announcement starts.

Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, “Since public facilities are places frequently visited by many residents, we will manage them thoroughly to ensure no inconvenience in their use,” and added, “We will listen carefully to even the smallest voices of residents throughout the district and create a Gangseo that communicates and develops together with its citizens.”

Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended the opening ceremony of the ‘23rd Gangseo Art Association Exhibition’ held at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum on the 8th and communicated with local cultural artists.

On this day, Mayor Kim spent time viewing the works of local cultural artists exhibited on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum together with attendees.

The opening ceremony was attended by about 100 people, including Mayor Kim Tae-woo, Kim Jin-ho (Director of Gangseo Cultural Center), exhibiting artists, and members of the Gangseo Art Association. The event proceeded with the Gangseo Art Association President’s welcome speech, guest congratulatory remarks, ribbon-cutting ceremony, and artwork viewing.

Mayor Kim said, “I hope the Gangseo Art Association Exhibition, where we can appreciate works by local artists, our neighbors, will make art feel more familiar rather than difficult,” and added, “We will do our best to create ‘Gangseo full of culture and arts’ so that residents can enjoy diverse cultural lives.”

Meanwhile, this exhibition, where over 120 works by Gangseo Art Association members can be viewed, will be held at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum from the 8th to the 27th.

Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) announced that it will hold a series of strategic briefings for early admission applications to support examinees and parents ahead of the 2023 academic year early application period.

The briefings will be held four times in total, each lasting two hours from 7 to 9 p.m. on July 22, July 29, August 1, and August 2, at the Nowon Education Platform’s large lecture hall.

Simultaneous live streaming will also be available on the district’s official YouTube channel, ‘Nowon-gu Office Mihongssi.’

The lectures are scheduled as follows: July 22 ? Comprehensive Understanding of the 2023 Early Admission Process (Yoon Sang-hyung, teacher at Yeongdong High School); July 29 ? Curriculum and Principal Recommendation Admission (Kim Myung-yeop, teacher at Hyewon Girls’ High School); August 1 ? Comprehensive and Equal Opportunity Admission (Kim Wan-su, teacher at Seondeok High School); August 2 ? 7 p.m. Natural Sciences Essay Admission (Jang Ji-hwan, teacher at Baejae High School), 8 p.m. Humanities Essay Admission (Park Jeong-jun, teacher at Osan High School). All instructors are current teachers responsible for college admissions and are expected to provide tailored information to students and parents confused by rapid changes in the college entrance environment.

Applications open from 2 p.m. on July 12 via the Nowon Education Platform website. Multiple applications per session are allowed. Each lecture accepts 40 participants on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to Nowon residents or examinees and parents attending schools in the district. Non-members can also participate without restrictions.

Additionally, the Nowon Education Platform offers personalized early admission strategy consulting and personal statement coaching to help students apply more effectively. Both consultations can be applied for on the website, with strategy consulting available from July 14 and personal statement coaching from July 19.

The Nowon Education Platform operates 1:1 customized comprehensive counseling programs such as college entrance consulting and learning coaching, and provides various services including career and academic academies. It was newly opened in April last year as the ‘Nowon Education Platform (NEP)’ from the Self-Directed Learning Support Center, receiving strong support from many residents due to enhanced support content. Despite only live streaming via YouTube during last year’s early admission strategy briefing due to COVID-19, about 200 people connected simultaneously to participate.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, “Since this year’s early admission strategy briefings will be held both online and offline, I hope more students will receive help and move closer to their goals,” and added, “We will do our best to provide a high-quality educational environment and bridge educational information gaps in response to the strong educational enthusiasm of our residents.”
