Son Byung-du "Will Revamp ESG Portal and Provide Sustainable Management Report Disclosure Guide"

Remarks at the KRX ESG Forum

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Sohn Byung-doo, Chairman of the Korea Exchange (KRX), announced plans to revamp the ESG portal and provide disclosure guidelines for sustainability management reports to expand Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) information disclosure.

Chairman Sohn made the announcement on the afternoon of the 7th at the 'KRX ESG Forum 2022' held at the conference hall of the exchange's Seoul headquarters.

At the event, discussions were held on ESG information disclosure, ESG evaluation, and ESG investment under the theme "The ESG Era: Current Issues and Response Tasks of the Korean Capital Market."

In his opening remarks, Chairman Sohn stated, "The exchange is promoting the 'ESG Initiative' as one of the four core strategies," adding, "To expand ESG information disclosure, we will revamp the ESG portal, including expanding the provision of evaluation grade information in the second half of this year."

He also said, "We will provide disclosure guidelines that can be utilized when preparing sustainability management reports, referring to the global disclosure standards currently being announced."
