Gyeongju Secures 'Largest Ever' National Funding in History... 30 Projects Secured 241.4 Billion Won Gyeongju City Hall.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongju City in Gyeongbuk secured 241.4 billion won in national funds by being selected for 30 government public projects in the first half of this year alone.


Gyeongju City announced on the 7th that a total of 30 projects were selected in government competitions, securing a total project cost of 424.7 billion won, including 241.4 billion won in national funds.


Gyeongju explained that these achievements were made by proactively responding to public projects conducted by central government ministries and establishing a system for continuously discovering new public projects.


Major selected projects include ▲Industrial Complex Renovation Project (182.1 billion won) ▲Electric Two-Wheeler Battery Sharing Station Technology Development and Demonstration Project (26.8 billion won) ▲Senior Welfare Housing Project (16.2 billion won) ▲Gyeongbuk Tourism Enterprise Support Center Construction (5.4 billion won) ▲Smart Tourism City Creation Project (45 billion won in national funds) ▲Smart City Creation Project (2 billion won in national funds), among others.


The Industrial Complex Renovation Project, with a total project cost of 332.2 billion won including 182.1 billion won in national funds, remodels aging industrial complexes into innovative industrial complexes centered on regional industry hubs and connections, laying the foundation for creating quality jobs.


Also, the Electric Two-Wheeler Battery Sharing Station Technology Development and Demonstration Project, with a total project cost of 42.3 billion won including 26.8 billion won in national funds, is a project to build next-generation future automobile BMS infrastructure for battery development and infrastructure construction, which are core components of electric and autonomous vehicles.


In addition, projects selected in this public competition include the Smart Farm Greenhouse Reconstruction Project as part of the Rich Rural Creation Project, the Youth Village Creation Project as part of youth policies, and the Hanok Branding Project to preserve the identity of the historic city of Gyeongju.


Mayor Joo Nak-young of Gyeongju said, “In line with the trend that central government projects are mainly conducted through public competitions, we will increase the selection rate through thorough preparation and actively apply for public projects in the second half of the year and next year to make every effort to secure national budgets.”
