Changwon National University and Uichang Fire Station Conduct 'Fire Safety Education' to Protect Foreigners' Lives Changwon National University Multicultural Promotion Center and Changwon City Uichang Fire Station conducted non-face-to-face fire safety education for local foreigners.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] On the 7th, the Multicultural Promotion Center at Changwon National University conducted a non-face-to-face fire safety education program for foreigners in the Gyeongnam region.


Changwon National University established an interactive remote video education system for foreigners living in distant areas and carried out this training.


The fire safety education was conducted in collaboration with the Uichang Fire Station in Changwon City, Gyeongnam, as part of the Ministry of Justice's social integration program citizen education.


The Ministry of Justice's social integration program is a social integration education designed to help foreigners acquire essential basic knowledge to adapt and become self-reliant members of Korean society.


This training consisted of emergency response guidelines such as ▲119 multi-channel reporting procedures ▲how to use an emergency escape device ▲cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED usage ▲emergency treatment methods for airway obstruction by foreign objects ▲and how to use a fire extinguisher.


Director Baek Gyeongjin said, “A new fire safety education program was provided so that foreigners residing in Korea can respond appropriately in case of fire or emergency,” and added, “We will develop this into an interactive experiential safety education with expert explanations and distribute it to foreigners in the region.”
